What are Graphic Vinyl Center Winders?
Jennerjahn is at the forefront of this technology, with our graphic vinyl center winding machines. Our machines are used to convert large rolls of vinyl material into smaller rolls which are then put into a customer’s graphic vinyl cutting machine. Our machines can be configured to meet your needs, and can accommodate multiple roll sizes, and are available in manual or fully automated versions, for ease of use. Converters of graphic vinyl rolls eager to tap into this growing market need a reliable slitter rewinder to produce high-quality graphic vinyl rolls.
The JTS-2 and JTS-4 stand out as top-tier options, poised to elevate your converting capabilities and provide your customers with the perfectly sized materials.
Key Features of Jennerjahn’s Top-Tier Graphic Vinyl Center Winders
Our center slitter rewinder machines here at Jennerjahn stand out due to their advanced features designed to handle highly delicate and surface-sensitive materials Winding works by transmitting the torque through the winding shaft. Torque goes through the roll’s center, often assisted by a lay-on roller to achieve the desired roll hardness.
Key Features of our Graphic Vinyl Center Winders:
JTS-2: 2 Shaft Turret Slitter
The JTS-2 Turret Rewind System is a two-station turret center winder. One shaft will be used for rewinding while the other shaft is used for tail sealing, off-loading of finished rolls, and the loading of new cores. The finished roll’s rotation is driven by the center of the rewind shaft to minimize contact with the surface of the roll for web sensitive products. As the turret rotates the finished rolls back to station 1, the rolls are sealed with an adhesive tab and stripped from the shaft. A new set of cores are loaded onto the shaft in station 1 while a new set of finished rolls are being wound in station 2. The most common master roll widths for the JTS range from 36 to 65 inches. Typical rewind shafts are 2 or 3 inches in diameter with finished roll diameters up to 10 inches.
JTS-4: 4 Shaft Turret Slitter
The JTS-4 4 shaft turret rewind system is another center winder option for high volume, fully automatic production. This machine optimizes cycle time and provides a higher level of automation than the JTS-2 by utilizing four shafts instead of just two. The turret will have four rewind shafts. A motor will drive the rewind shaft. During normal operation, the first station will be used for rewinding, in the second station the tails will be cut and secured to the roll, the third station is for off-loading, and the fourth station will be used for loading cores in preparation for the next cycle. The most common master roll widths for the JTS range from 34 to 73 inches. Typical rewind shafts are 2 or 3 inches in diameter with finished roll diameters up to 10 inches.
Our machines are supplied with an industrial computer equipped with a flat panel touch screen. This will serve as the primary operator interface, (HMI). From this screen, the operator will have access to the following:
- Machine Controls
- Machine Setup Screens
- Diagnostic Screens
- Operator and Maintenance Manuals
- Troubleshooting Guide
- The following drawings are accessible on the HMI.
- All mechanical assembly drawings
- All hydraulic schematics
- All pneumatic schematics
- All electric schematics
- Complete Bill of Material with Jennerjahn and Vendor Parts
- Optional Pull Roll Unit: A polyurethane covered pull roll is available as an option in order to isolate tension prior to winding. This is typically used for low tension applications and may help with cycle times. The unit includes an AC drive and closed loop tension control via load cells.
