The JJS is typically utilized in high volume production environments where production rate variability due to traditional operator interaction must be avoided.   The rewinder can be used for a wide variety of roll products: point of sale, ATM, lottery ticket, airline boarding passes, counter, butcher, newsprint, roof underlayment, home and auto masking, doctor exam, pressure sensitive labels and many more.

Typical Uses:   The JJS is typically utilized in high volume production environments where production rate variability due to traditional operator interaction must be avoided.   The rewinder can be used for a wide variety of roll products: point of sale, ATM, lottery ticket, airline boarding passes, counter, butcher, newsprint, roof underlayment, home and auto masking, doctor exam, pressure sensitive labels and many more.

Operator Responsibilities Each  Cycle:   The operator is responsible for loading cores onto a rewind mandrel and placing the mandrel into the magazine.  The machine does the rest.

Automation:   As long as mandrels are staged in the autoloader, the machine will insert the cored mandrel in the rewinding station, cut the tails, wrap the tails around the cores, tuck the tails, wind the roll to the desired length, transfer the rolls to the seal station, seal the tails of the finished rolls, remove the mandrel cap from the mandrel and transfer the finished rolls to a packing table.  The machine—not the operator—dictates the cycle time.

Optional Dual Web System

By adding an additional unwind stand and the dual web package, the operator can load two narrow width master rolls into the machine and process both rolls simultaneously.  This allows the operator to maximize slitting efficiency when processing long runs of narrow width master rolls.

Description

The JJS model is the second level of automation featured on Jennerjahn small roll surface rewinders.  Automation levels include; Semi-Manual, Semi-Auto, and Fully Automatic

To maintain continuous operation of the JJS, the operator is responsible for loading cores onto a mandrel and placing it into a magazine in front of the winding station.  Up to 6 sets of mandrels can be staged in the magazine.  Tucked roll starts, tail cuts, tail sealing with glue or adhesive tabs, finished roll kick-out, and mandrel cap removal, are all done automatically.

The separate unwind stand and rewinder frame offer greater flexibility to add optional features such as adhesive tab tail sealing, dual web or Jennerjahn’s patented coreless technology, and the ability to be reconfigured to a fully automatic JJF model. 

All Jennerjahn small roll surface rewinders feature two bedrollers and a top rider roller that applies programmable torque and regulated down pressure to accurately control tension and roll hardness throughout the winding cycle.
