Types of Non-Woven Fabrics Jennerjahn Rewinders Can Convert

As a top supplier for all converting operations, Jennerjahn Machine provides equipment that can convert several types of non-woven fabrics. For example, some of the non-woven geotextiles include:

  • Construction and erosion control blankets
  • Weed barriers
  • Furniture and bedding, such as the fabric installed under couches and box springs
  • Silt fences
  • Sediment bags
  • Transition mats to control scour and erosion

Our non-woven fabric slitting machines are designed to process nearly any non-woven material, ensuring our customers can process the exact types of products required in their industry. Some of the most common types of non-woven materials our converting equipment can convert are:

  • Melt-blown fabrics, including both micro- and nanofibers
  • Spunbond fabrics, such as 100% pure polypropylene non-woven fabrics
  • Spunlace fabrics, like hydroentangled fabrics

Our Non-Woven Fabric Slitting Machines

JLS 73 & 84: Large Slitter for 73” and 84” Products

Jennerjahn’s JLS 73 and 84 Large Slitter Rewinders are suitable for fully automated, high-volume production. The advanced surface-winding unit and unique shaftless rewind technology accurately control tension and winding during rapid accelerations and decelerations.

JLS 120: Large Slitter for 120” Products

Jennerjahn’s 120” Large Slitter Rewinder is another automation-capable machine. Its more robust steel frame, larger motors, and stronger bedrollers easily process heavier rolls up to 120 inches wide. The JLS 120 precisely controls web tension and roll quality over the entire course of the winding cycle.

JLS 135 & 150: Large Slitter for 135” and 150” Products

Due to the popularity of the JLS 120 Large Slitter, we designed even larger machines for up to 165” widths. Our customers needed fully automatic slitter rewinders capable of converting non-woven fabrics between 135 inches and 165 inches wide. As a result, we launched the JLS 135 and 150, which can handle industrial fabrics and construction materials in the drapery, bedding, furniture, and landscaping industries.

JJM: Manual Surface Rewinder

For the most basic non-woven fabric slitting purposes, Jennerjahn’s JJM Manual Surface Rewinder is a small-roll surface rewinder with semi-manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic operation modes. This enables converters to operate manually, then switch to automatic as production needs increase. The JJM Manual Surface Rewinder can be customized to cut fabric, accommodating a maximum roll width of 54” and taking up minimal space.

Slitting Machines Main Characteristics

The converting industry relies on slitting machines—also called slitters or slitter rewinders—to process many types of materials, including non-woven fabrics. Slitter rewinders slit larger rolls of these materials into smaller rolls for more convenient use and storage.

Slitting machines are comprised of three main components:

  1. The unwind, which feeds large rolls of materials
  2. The slitter, which cuts the unwound material into specific widths
  3. The rewind, where cut materials are wound back into narrower rolls

Applications for Our Slitters

Our non-woven fabric slitting machines work with the widest range of materials. Some of the roll products our slitters can convert are:

  • Kraft paper
  • Butcher paper
  • Newsprint
  • Medical exam table paper
  • Lamination
  • Construction materials (e.g. house wrap, roofing materials, flooring protection)
  • Plotter and engineering paper
  • Masking paper
  • Indented bogus
  • Flexible packaging
  • Film
