In this second example, the customer needed a more versatile packaging system. In addition to bulk packaging, the customer also needed the line to insert 2 rolls into a smaller case and then stack them onto a pallet.
When the system is setup for case packaging, the finished rolls are staged in pairs. Once the case is erected the rolls are inserted and the case is then automatically taped closed and transferred to a similar style layer forming table. If the packaging line is setup for case packaging, the cases are transferred to the layer forming table from the left. Bulk packaged rolls are transferred from the right. The entire packaging line is equipped with a variety of safety guard fences and light curtains to prevent possible injury to the operator and surrounding employees.
