Upper Tail Blow

The upper tail blow is used in conjunction with the tail blow to achieve a tight wrap around the core during the tuck or foldless start sequence.

The upper tail blow assembly is located between the tuck blade and the top rider roll on the JLS. .

Occasionally when the tails are blown over the cores, they begin to flap around causing a fold in the tuck, or small interweaving at the start of the cycle.

The upper tail blow forces downward air pressure evenly across the web as the tails are being guided into the nip point. Two air regulators on the front of the machine can easily be adjusted to set the correct amount of air flow for the tail blow sequence.
