Coreless Large Slitter for 73” Products – CJLS 73 Pneumatic shaft

Coreless Large Slitter for 73” Products – CJLS 73 Pneumatic shaft

The CJLS is utilized in finished roll applications where a core is not required.  The elimination of the core allows the converter to further reduce production cost and maximize profits.  Typical rewind shafts range in size from 1.5” (38mm) to 3” (76mm) in diameter.

Description

Typical Uses:   The CJLS is utilized in finished roll applications where a core is not required.  The elimination of the core allows the converter to further reduce production cost and maximize profits.  Typical rewind shafts range in size from 1.5” (38mm) to 3” (76mm) in diameter.  The machine can be used for a wide variety of converted products: floor underlayment, roofing materials, red rosin, fiber reinforced box tape, counter rolls and many more.

Operator Responsibilities Per Cycle:   The machine is fully automatic, allowing the operator to assist with roll packaging.

Automation:   Rewind mandrels are staged in the autoloader.  The shafts are automatically loaded into the rewind station.  Once in place, the machine automatically cuts the tails, wraps the tails around the shaft, tucks the tails, winds the roll to the desired length, transfers the rolls to the seal station, seals the tails of the finished rolls, transfers the rolls (with the shaft) to the shaft extraction station, deflates the shaft, strips the shaft of finished rolls, and transfers the shaft back to the autoloader while finished rolls exit the machine.

Standard Features:   (In addition to the JJM and JJS features)

  1. Specially designed coreless rewind shafts with stable concentricity.
  2. Automatic expansion and retraction of shafts.
  3. Automatic removal of finished rolls from the rewind shafts.

Description

For coreless roll products with a finished roll diameter ranging from 3 to 12 inches and a roll void inside diameter between 1.5 and 3 inches, the CJLS pneumatic shaft large roll slitter rewinder is an ideal choice for converters.

The machine is ideal for producing water-activated packaging tape (gummed paper tape), floor underlayment, (red rosin), and colored paper rolls used in educational settings and backdrops for photography studio environments.

The CJLS model maintains the same level of automation as the JLS, however it utilizes pneumatically expandable rewind shafts to produce coreless rolls.  The autoloader expands the shaft with air and then places it into the winding station.  The shaft is contained during the winding cycle using a chucking method very similar to the standard JLS machine.  While rolls are being wound on one shaft, the second shaft is transferred to the seal station to secure the cut tails, and then transferred to the exit conveyor.  A roll lift system positions the rolls so the shaft can automatically be deflated and removed.  A shaft gripper system grabs the end of the shaft and removes it from the finished rolls and returns it to the autoloader.  The coreless finished rolls are transferred to a packing table.
